Durban Central

This is a region of Durban that is ripe for investment. The area stretches from the Dairy Beach Pier along South Beach, includes the whole of the Point, and along the northern harbour front as far as Albert Park, with West Street as its northern limit. This part of Durban contains some excellent investment opportunities, since it is a very desirable area in which to live. This is a region that includes both the Point Yacht Club and the Royal Durban Yacht Club, the Ocean Terminal, the Maritime Museum, and the picturesque gardens that border the Esplanade.

Durban Point was an area that used to be neglected and was very run down. In 2003 more than R1.8 billion was invested in the area, and today the Durban Point Waterfront is in a superb location, has some wonderful new waterfront properties, and is home to such projects as the uShaka Marine World. Today The Point is a system of canals along which urban development has taken shape. The development includes a 1200-seater dolphinarium, retail outlets, apartments and restaurants, and there are some excellent investment opportunities to be found there.

Durban has long been the main holiday venue for residents of the Gauteng area, and property near to the centre of town is at a premium. The infrastructure in Durban is excellent, with two major hospitals located on the Point, shopping malls and all major sports represented. There are numerous older apartments some and some newer luxury apartments in the Point to consider.
