Johannesburg East

Johannesburg is known throughout South Africa and much of the world as the Golden City, and the eastern part of the city, which includes Kensington, Linksfield, Malvern, Primrose Hill and Bedford Gardens, has a wide cross section of different properties ripe for investment. Kensington and Malvern are comprised mostly of hundreds of small houses built in the early 1920s. A little further to the East are many new developments that include town houses and cluster homes. The area is home to several excellent schools, notably Jeppe Boys and Jeppe Girls schools, St Benedicts College, the country’s top boys rowing college, and King David High, the country’s top Jewish school.

The facilities in this part of Johannesburg are second to none, with a number of first class shopping malls such as Eastgate and some of the city’s major private clinics. There is plenty of open park land with Bezuidenhout Park, Rhodes Park and Kensington Kopje, and even a Nature Reserve, Linksfield Ridge. The economy of the region still depends heavily on the region’s gold mining, and the world’s largest gold refinery is located a few kilometres to the south. This is a vibrant part of Johannesburg with plenty of employment opportunities, every facility you can think of and tons of potential growth.
