Wonderboom South

The extreme northern suburbs of Pretoria is separated from the rest of the city by a koppie that is the eastern extension of the Magaliesberg mountains. At the foot of the southern side of the koppie lie the suburbs of Wonderboom South, Waverley, Villieria, Montana Park and Mountain View. In the east the region is bounded by the N1 highway that leads to Zimbabwe, and the south by Michael Brink Avenue, the R80 highway and the railway marshalling yards. The region is served by a number of high schools and a good selection of primary schools. There are plenty of strip malls in the region, but to find the larger shopping malls you have to travel to the north side of the koppie, where there are a number of large complexes long Zambesi Drive.

There is no shortage of clinics or hospitals in the region. Sporting facilities are excellent, with sports grounds, tennis clubs, gyms and cricket grounds scattered throughout the suburbs. These are some of Pretoria’s older suburbs, much of the property being in the shape of two and three bedroom homes dating to the post-war era. There are some excellent investment opportunities in the area. Communications are good, with Wonderboom Airport a short drive over the koppie and the N1 just minutes away. The Roodeplat Dam and Nature Reserve are a 20 minute drive to the east and offer sailing and water sports, and just to the north on the koppie is the Wonderboom Nature Reserve.
